Contract won to deliver $28M Great Northern Hwy works

Construction on the $28 million upgrade to the Great Northern Highway between Muchea and Chittering in Western Australia is expected to start by the end of this year following the contract award.

WBHO Infrastructure will deliver the works, which would link directing with an interchange at Muchea, being delivered as part of NorthLink WA.

The upgrade will deliver 14.7 kilometres of new highway, including 3.7 kilometres of dual carriageway connecting to the northern section of NorthLink.

The project is part of the $344.8 million Great Northern Highway – Muchea to Wubin upgrade, jointly funding by the Australian and Western Australian Governments.

The upgrade between Muchea and Chittering is expected to be completed by February 2020, weather permitting.
