Transport for NSW has appointed Arcadis as Engineering Services Technical Advisor for the Central Precinct Renewal Program.

Arcadis is a global design and consultancy firm for natural and built assets and will provide engineering design solutions for the program.

The Central Precinct Renewal will be a major urban renewal program in Sydney’s southern CBD. It will create a new place for business and the community by renewing 24 hectares of government-owned land.

It will provide a revitalised transport interchange, building on the existing rail, bus, coach and light rail connections, the new CBD and South East Light Rail and Sydney Metro.

Critical employment space will also be created for the jobs of the future, anchoring the proposed Sydney Innovation and Technology Precinct.

Lindsay Baker, Senior Project Manager – Engineering at the Central Precinct Renewal Program said Arcadis was able to bring relevant experience from projects around the world to Sydney.

“Arcadis is now working in a collaborative team with Transport for NSW in the delivery of this city-shaping project,” she said.

Arcadis has recently helped to deliver the Sydney Metro projects, including the underground station design and technical services package on the City & Southwest.

Arcadis will be supported by Thornton Tomasetti, who previously provided engineering and construction services for the rail deck and over station structures for Hudan Yards in New York, as well as Indec who have extensive knowledge of rail operations within the Sydney area.
