The Victorian Government has opened an expression of interest process to identify contractors to deliver the $47.8 million GovHub project in Ballarat, which will revitalise the Civic Hall site.
Under the Victorian Industry Participation Policy, the GovHub project is required to use local firms, local materials, local expertise and local skills, and where possible deliver flow on benefits to the Ballarat economy.
The GovHub design includes an active ground floor space, incorporating the bricks and masonry theme of the Civic Hall precinct, a reconstructed lower hall space for multi-purpose use, a glass conservatory linking the Civic Hall to the GovHub, five storeys of office space and basement car parking.
The EOI process for the Ballarat GovHub, managed by Development Victoria, is open for two weeks and closes on Monday 21 May at 10.00 am.
The Victorian Government said a shortlist of contractors will then be identified and invited to tender, with construction expected to commence by the end of 2018.
