NT Govt invests $1.45B in infrastructure

Treasurer Nicole Manison said the wider investment in roads, housing, health, education, schools, tourism and infrastructure will drive generational change across the Territory.

“Roads are the lifeblood of the Territory, improving economic opportunities and creating jobs,” Ms. Manison said.

Funded for road projects in the 2018 Budget include $76 million to upgrade the Adelaide River flood plain section on the Arnhem Highway, $98 million for Keep River Plains Road to provide sealed access at Point Ceylon and upgrading and sealing Gunn Point Road to support Project Sea Dragon, and more.

The spend also covers a number community infrastructure projects, including $66 million to progress the City Deals projects which includes an underground carpark in Darwin and revitalising the Alice Springs CBD and $27.6 million for headworks and subdivision works in Berrimah North, Borroloola, Darwin Waterfront, Larapinta and Palmerston East.
