The Victorian Government has named the two contractors shortlisted to submit tenders for the $375 million Mordialloc Bypass in Melbourne’s south-east.
CPB/Seymour Whyte Joint Venture and McConnell Dowell/Decmil Joint Venture have been shortlisted to submit tenders to deliver the nine-kilometre freeway.
The four-lane freeway will link the Mornington Peninsula Freeway at Springvale Road in Aspendale Gardens to the Dingley Bypass in Dingley Village, creating a continuous connection from Frankston.
It will feature entry and exit ramp interchanges at Springvale Road, Governor Road, Lower Dandenong Road and Centre Dandenong Road.
According to a statement from the Victorian Government, the bypass will save travel times for drivers up to 10 minutes in each direction between Mornington Peninsula Freeway and Dingley Bypass.
Major construction is expected to start in 2019 and be completed by the end of 2021.
