Top performers in the Australian road industry have been awarded at the 2018 Australian Road Research Board (ARRB) Gala and Awards Dinner.
The event, held at Brisbane City Hall, had presentations from Dr Bronwyn Evans, who emphasised the role of research organisations in the development of standards in a technologically focused world.
Knowledge Transfer Commitment Award: Downer Road Services Team, Downer
The award recognises individuals or teams with a commitment to communicating research outcomes.
Research Impact Award: Riadh Al Mahaidi and Dr Robin Kalfat, Swinburne
This award recognises an individual or research team that has improved the operational quality or cost in the last 24 months.
Implementing Agency Applied Research Award: Fred Andrews, Phaedonos
This award recognises research undnertaken by staff of agencies, departments or local governments that have led to significant benefits.
New Research Talent Award: Dr Ronny Kutadinata, ARRB
This award recognised researches under 35 that have made a significant discovery in the last 24 months.
Lifetime Research, Development & Implementation Award: Geoff Jameson, Chief Research Scientist (Pavement Technology) at ARRB
This award recognises an individual’s leadership and contribution to the road transport sector for more than 25 years.
