It aims to increase capacity for traffic growth and improved travel times, safety and access to the proposed Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek.

The 5.7-kilometre upgrade project will widen the road to a six-lane divided road between the eastern side of upper Canal bridge and the western side of Eastwood Road intersection. The rest of Bringelly Road will be upgraded from two lanes to a four-lane divided road with a central median to allow for widening to six lanes if required.

Reducing travel times for road freight is one of the goals of the project alongside access to future South West Growth Centre precincts along Bringelly Road.

NSW Member for Camden Chris Patterson said more than 125,000 square metres of asphalt has been laid with more than 13 kilometres of new stormwater systems being installed.

“Work will be carried out to complete the new traffic lights at King Street, Eastwood Road, Dickson Road, Rickard Road, Cowpasture Road and Skyline Crescent intersections as well as work at the busy intersection of Bringelly Road, Camden Valley Way and Cowpasture Road,” Mr Patterson said.

“Crews will also be asphalting, line marking, installing signs and completing crossings across Bonds Creek, Scalabrini Creek and Kemps Creek.

“Once complete, the new 5.7 kilometre stretch of Bringelly Road will increase capacity for expected future traffic growth and improve travel times for all road users,” he said.
