Decmil’s Victorian business has been awarded a new $86 million contract with the Major Road Projects Authority to design and construct the Drysdale Bypass from Jetty Road to Whitcombes Road.
The business is already undertaking an early works package on the Victorian project, with major construction set to begin this month.
The project involves construction of the new bypass to improve safety and ease congestion through the heart of Drysdale by giving trucks and drivers on the Bellarine Peninsula an alternative and more efficient route.
The Victorian Government estimates the bypass from Jetty Road to north of Whitcombes Road will help reduce traffic congestion through town by around 40 per cent.
The project is expected to be completed in mid-2020.
