Contractor completes $23M Marmion Avenue extension to Yanchep, WA

Duplication works along 11.5 kilometres of Marmion Avenue from Butler to Yanchep are now complete.

RJ Vincent were contracted for the works which are expected to provide a faster commute for drivers in Perth’s growing northern corridor.

The $23 million project was funded by the Western Australian Government and delivered by the City of Wanneroo.

The single-lane stretch between Camborne Parkway in Butler and Yanchep Beach Road, Yanchep is now four lanes, catering for the swift population growth in the northern suburbs.

Butler MLA John Quigley and City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts joined Transport Minister Rita Saffioti to mark the completion of construction.

Ms. Saffioti said she was pleased the Government contributed the $23 million to make this job-creating, congestion-busting project a reality.

“It’s major projects like these that will help our economy recover post COVID-19 whilst keeping Western Australians in jobs.”

Butler MLA John Quigley said this was one of his major election commitments and he is pleased to have delivered on this promise for the people of Butler.

“The completion of this project will ease congestion and mean less time for commuters on the road and more time for the important things, such as spending time with family and friends.”
