Designs for the new rail bridge over Greens Road in Dandenong South, Victoria have been updated. Additional screening has been allocated to keep rail maintenance workers safe when the project is complete.

Workers are still progressing at the level crossing, which is being completed as part of the Cranbourne Line Upgrade. This project will duplicate 8 kilometres of the line and allow for trains to run every 10 minutes.

Since March, crews have established a new work site near Greens Road and have completed early works such as the relocation of gas, electricity and telecommunications infrastructure.

New power poles have also been transported to site to accommodate the reconfigured power lines around the future rail bridge.

Demountable offices and sheds will soon be added as part of the site establishment and machinery, equipment and fencing have begun to be transported to site.

Crews are also progressing with preparatory works for the line duplication, which involves signalling and drainage.

The newly designed steel screen will enhance the look of the structure and improve safety for future rail workers.
