New CEO at Water Corporation

The Western Australian Government has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer for state-owned utility Water Corporation.

Pat Donovan, current Water Corporation General Manager Operations, will begin his five-year term in the role beginning 1 January, 2019.

Mr. Donovan has held his current role with the utility since August 2018 and has more than 25 years of experience in the gas utility sector in Australia and Ireland.

Prior to joining the Water Corporation, he was President of ATCO Gas Australia.

As the organisation’s new CEO, one of Mr Donovan’s key responsibilities will be continuing to lead the its strategic response to the impacts of climate change in Western Australia.

Mr. Donovan takes over from Sue Murphy who had held the role for 10 years and announced in June she would step down from the role when her contract expired at the end of 2018.
