This project will support the future development of the Western Sydney Employment Area as well as improve freight connections to Sydney’s motorway network and the wider interstate freight network, said a spokesperson from NSW Roads and Maritime Services (RMS).

“The NSW Government is planning ahead for the future of western Sydney to ensure road users are connected with key employment areas across the region,” the spokesperson said.

“The community was asked to provide feedback earlier this year on the review of environmental factors and concept design and 29 submissions were received from various organisations including councils and local businesses.

“As a result of the feedback provided, [RMS] has made some changes to the concept design to address concerns raised by the community and stakeholders.

“These changes include the realignment and redesign of the Robinson Street and Archbold Road intersection to minimise property impacts as well as raising the height of the earth mound at the M4 Western Motorway and Archbold Road intersection to enhance flood protection to adjacent properties.

“A submissions report is now available which responds to all questions or concerns raised.”

The spokesperson said RMS is working closely with the Department of Planning and Environment to support the development of the future Western Sydney Employment Area.

“The Western Sydney Employment Area is expected to provide more than 10,000 jobs across the next 30 years, making western Sydney an even better place to live and do business,” the spokesperson said.

“The next phases of the project, including detailed design and construction, are subject to future funding availability.

“The community will be kept informed as the project progresses.”
