The works will take place between Cecil Hills and Luddenham, as well as Rickard and Hoxton Park roads.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said thousands of motorists use Elizabeth Drive daily, with the number expected to grow once the new Western Sydney Airport opens in 2026.

“These investigations will include preliminary engineering and environmental field investigations as well as strategic modelling and are expected to be completed by the end of next year,” the spokeperson said.

“This early planning work will investigate the possible scope for an upgrade of Elizabeth Drive between the M7 Motorway and The Northern Road as well as upgrades to Rickard and Hoxton Park roads to help meet future needs of the Western Sydney region.

“This is an important piece of work for the future of Western Sydney and demonstrates infrastructure planning is underway to support the future growth of the area.”
