The Princes Highway is undergoing night-time improvements to create smoother and safer trips for drivers.
Around 12 kilometres of the Princes Highway will be resurfaced between Corio and Warun Ponds.
This is the first time a project of this kind and size has been done on the road in a decade.
The upgrade aims to provide a safer and more efficient journey between Melbourne, Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula, which sees 20,000 motorists travelling the route each day.
VicRoads has already completed resurfacing works between Broderick Road to Cox Road, Corio. Other major sections to be resurfaced are:
- Cowies Creek Bridge to Separation Street, North Geelong
- Ballarat Road to James Harrison Bridge, Geelong
- Surf Coast Highway to Ghazeepore Road, Belmont/Waurn Ponds
The Victorian Government has invested $10 million into the upgrade, and is expected to be completed by the end of May 2018.
