South Australian Premier Steven Marshall has announced the appointment of chief executives to a number of state government agencies this week.
Paul Heithersay has been named Chief Executive of the Department for Energy and Mining, Mike Hnyda will take on the Chief Executive role for Department for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Kylie Taylor will lead the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing, and Michael Buchan steps in as Interim Chief Executive, for the South Australian Housing Authority.
The Premier said the chief executives will be reporting to one minister, to help ensure greater government accountability.
“Gone are the days of blurred reporting lines and absurd scenarios where chief executives reported to up to seven ministers,” the Premier said.
“I look forward to working with the new chief executives to create more jobs, lower costs for households and businesses, and deliver better government services.”
