Safety works on Pacific Highway at Doyalson North

Works have begun on two major upgrades on the M1 Pacific Motorway at Beresfield and between the Kairong and Somersby interchanges.

$164,000 has been allocated to carry out the work approximately 500 metres north of Ruttleys Road.

“In the five years to March 2017 there were three crashes along this section of the Pacific Highway, including one fatal crash,” a Roads and Maritime spokesperson said.

“Work will involve installing 300 metres of guardrail in the eastern shoulder of the Pacific Highway to help provide protection from roadside hazards.”

The works will take place between 7am to 5pm on weekdays in about three weeks, weather permitting.

For the safety of workers and motorists, eastbound lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place during working hours.
