Stabilcorp was named a Finalist in the Innovation Category presented by Licensys and took home the Encouragement Award presented by the Queensland Government, in recognition of the design and development of the unique ShoulderMaster attachment.

Launched last year, the ShoulderMaster is a cutting-edge road repair and widening skid steer attachment that can quickly, safely and efficiently fix dangerous narrow roads and crumbling road shoulders to improve road safety.

Stabilcorp Managing Director, Peta Pinson said, “It is a real honour to be acknowledged among an impressive line-up of road safety initiatives that will ultimately reduce the unnecessary loss of lives on our roads.”

“A report to the Federal Government in May 2015 indicated that by adding just one extra metre of gravel or asphalt to the shoulder of the road, decreases the potential for runoff accidents by 30 per cent.  The ShoulderMaster makes this possible.”

Other organisations named alongside Stabilcorp in the Innovation Award category include Kidsafe Australia, NRMA, Transport for NSW and the Royal North Shore Hospital Trauma Service.

Mrs Pinson said, “The Encouragement Award has really spurred us on to keep coming up with new methods and machinery to make roads safer while saving money and time associated with road maintenance. We are currently expanding our stable of road repair equipment with a number of new solutions.”

This latest accolade follows a number of industry awards for Stabilcorp, including being named Winner of the Innovation Award at 2015 Civenex Expo, Finalist in the Product Innovation Award category of the Earthmover and Civil Contractor Awards, and Nominee in the Australian Innovation Challenge Awards.

The award-winning ShoulderMaster will be on display at the upcoming Diesel Dirt & Turf trade show in Sydney in April, and the Roads & Civil Works Expo at the Melbourne Showgrounds in May.
