CPB Contractors Dragados Samsung Joint Venture (CPBDS-JV) will deliver the momentous project. Aurecon and Jacobs, in joint venture (AJJV), are lead designers for the project.

The New M5 will double the capacity of Sydney’s heavily congested M5 East motorway corridor by providing new 9km long twin tunnels from Kingsgrove to a new interchange at St Peters.

Geoff Linke, Aurecon’s Managing Director, Infrastructure, said in a statement this was a chance to work with best in class contractors and partners, to deliver a project that will support Sydney’s growing transport needs.

“It is a project through which Aurecon can help shape a major city on the global stage, with the WestConnex motorway predicted to deliver $20b in economic benefits to New South Wales,” he explains. “This project will allow our people to apply their great skills with pride and intent on making a valuable difference.”

“Most importantly, the New M5 project will deliver significant benefits for Sydney motorists,” he adds.
