VEGA: VEGAPULS 64 – condensate & buildup

The VEGAPULS 64 liquid radar level measurement instrument works to improve efficiency for bitumen suppliers, and the service providers maintaining their assets.

On the VEGAPULS 64, the sensor emits a continuous radar signal through the antenna, which is reflected by the material and received as an echo by the antenna. The frequency difference between the emitted and received signal is proportional to the distance and depends on the filling height. The instrument then converts the height into a respective output signal, which is then outputted as measured value.

Because the VEGAPULS 64 operates with a transmission frequency of 80GHz, this ensures the radar level sensor receives only distinct, definitive reflections from the product surface. The focused 80GHz beam also avoids internal installations and build-up on vessel walls.
