WA Road Research Innovation Program extended

The Western Australia Road Research Innovation Program has been extended until 2023, under a new agreement between the Australian Road Research Board (ARRB) and Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA).

The program aims to develop targeted research in the areas of pavement, bituminous surfacing, asset management and structures.

The initial agreement was signed in 2015.

A spokesperson for ARRB said a signing ceremony between ARRB CEO Michael Caltabiano and MRWA Managing Director Peter Woronzow took place earlier this week.

“The agreement aligns with the strategic goals of both organisations and recognises Main Roads’s desire to focus on road infrastructure related research,” the spokesperson said.

“It will enable Main Roads to significantly increase the capability and effectiveness of its specialist technical areas, and deliver excellence and better value from every dollar spent.”
